Corporate Social
Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at NIBCapital is a tangible part of our business processes. We see CSR as one of the components of building a strong relationship with our clients, as it makes us look beyond the limits of a single transaction. CSR also has everything to do with setting up our own organization, our social involvement, specifically as it relates to shareholders and stakeholders. Integrity, Respect and Professionalism serve as our core values. In our business principles we indicate which reference points we use for that. Following the introduction of the business values and principles at the end of 2003, we set up an internal working group managed by a one of the members. The working group includes representatives from nearly all of NIBCapital business units. On the advice of this group the Managing Board has decided to set up a development program for all our employees using case-studies and providing additional insight about the way non-financial criteria can be used in the total client transaction evaluation process.

The Managing Board sees it as its duty to create a broad base of support for CSR. At the end of 2004, the Managing Board decided on a 2005 agenda with a high ambition level.

One of the decisions related to the further institutionalisation and expansion of the CSR-test which must be included in transaction proposals involving corporates in all our business units. A training course will be planned and rolled out.We will also further strengthen compliance with and evaluation of the CSR guidelines. Another decision was to improve our commitment to local causes by evaluating and accepting proposals by our staff to hold societal functions or work in such a setting. NIBCapital is looking to further stimulate these activities.
